L'Enclos is home to the gîtes, and is also our home
throughout the year.
Our knowledge of the area allows us to offer a number of optional
services to help you, and one that many of our guests appreciate is that
we keep a stock of local wine and can have this available in your
gite ready for your arrival.
If you would like to take advantage of this service,
please select the wines you would like from the list below, and add them
to your booking form or send us a separate email.
With the exception of the 'Cuvee Prestige' red wines, and the dessert wine,
these wines are not intended for long-term storage and are typically 1-2
years old. We update this page when the new wines are released in late spring
/ early summer and the 'year' of each wine will usually change.
All this means that if you order a bottle of 2008 chardonnay in
October then it might be a bottle of 2009 chardonnay when you arrive!
Even if the year of the wine changes, the price will stay the same
as it was when you ordered .
We have toured the local vineyards and believe that
Chateau Guilhem,
offers
some of the best wines available in the Malepere region of the Languedoc.
The owner has spent several years working with Ernest and Julio Gallo,
and applies the latest techniques to his winemaking.
Consequently, the ‘Vignobles Guilhem’ wines have a structure which is more
new-world than traditional, and are for drinking now, when still young.
In contrast, the ‘Chateau Guilhem Cuvee prestige’ red is typically French,
has been aged in oak, and is suitable for laying down for up to 10 years
in appropriate conditions.
