Each gîte has a fully equipped kitchen and well furnished rooms, these are described in more detail on the specific page for each gîte. Also included in the standard price for each gîte are the:

• free access to the wifi internet with no need for passwords or logins!
• separate private stone built barbecue for each gite
• all property taxes (Tax d'Habitation, Tax Foncieres)
• insurance of the gite itself - but we recommend you have your own policy to cover yourselves and your personal items during your holiday and in case of breakages
• swimming pool (5m x 10m)
• during July and August, various games including table tennis, badminton, boule, table football, giant chess etc.

Compulsory charges

From 1/1/2019 we are now required to collect and pass on to the French treasury a ‘taxe de sejour’ (bed tax) from all of our guests, this is currently levied as 7.2% of the cost of the accommodation.

We also have an additional compulsory cost for our linen packs, these are added to the gite rental price at a cost of £15 (20€) per person. This charge simply covers the cost of having the linen professionally laundered and our linen packs include sheets, duvets, duvet covers, pillows, pillowcases, hand and bath towels, drying up towels, bath mats, oven gloves but exclude beach towels. This is something that we have always done, but has been especially important with covid.

The linen packs are not included in the price of the gite simply because the cost of the laundry is directly related to the number of people staying in the gite.

Gite heating

Electric heating and Air Conditioning - gites Burgundy, Languedoc and Loire

These three gites have electric heaters in all the rooms and a reversable heat pump that provides much lower cost heating / air conditioning in the main living area. In the mid and high seasons the cost of the air conditioning is included in the rental price of the gite, but in the low and winter seasons there will be an additional charge.

Each gite has an electricity meter so electricity use is simply billed based on the meter reading at the current French rate (25 cents per unit in 2023).

Central heating - gite Bordeaux

Gite Bordeaux has central heating from its own gas boiler and supplied by a gas tank buried in the garden of the gite. Use of this central heating is charged at cost from the gauge on the tank.

Log burners - Burgundy and Bordeaux

Gites Burgundy and Bordeaux also have log burners. The one in Burgundy is an 'insert' as shown in the photo, the one in Bordeaux is shown on several of the photos of the ground floor of the gite on the main page for Gite Bordeaux.

We cannot supply firewood, but it is available from local suppliers including the Super U supermarket in Mirepoix. For long term rental we can recommend direct suppliers who will deliver larger quantities suitable for daily burning over several months.
